What is a Wicked Problem?

Neither evil nor malicious, "wickedness" here means defined by extreme complexity. Wicked problems are often extremely resistant to solutions as solutions may have contradictory requirements.What is Wicked Wednesday?

Cynicism, apathy, and toxic positivity are all deeply unsatisfying responses to the world we live in, so we built an alternative: Wicked Wednesday. Wicked Wednesday is an informal, international community of practice that meets to work on the world’s wicked problems. We come together to work on Wicked Problems because:

  • We build mental muscle in overcoming our brain’s habits of oversimplification

  • We are building individual and collective capacity to work skillfully and responsibly with wicked problems

  • We build new connections with others that are making their corner of society a better place
